How to choose
I would not choose the same mould for every cake
For a flexible round format, we would examine the 24 cm Lékué. If you prefer metal and a larger diameter, the 26 cm Pyrex asimetriA is this selection's alternative. For a patterned finish and central tube, we would choose Nordic Ware Anniversary with a recipe suited to its geometry. These containers are not interchangeable without adjusting the batter.
Diameter, height and volume
Check internal and external dimensions. A gripping rim increases the space taken up in the oven, not the amount of batter. Moving from a 24 cm to a 26 cm round tin increases area by approximately 17% if you want to keep the same height; that ratio guides quantities but does not guarantee identical baking time.
A Bundt also has a central tube and patterns. Comparing outside diameter with a plain tin is not enough. Capacities expressed in cups do not indicate the number of portions either. Use a recipe compatible with that volume and leave room to rise.
Material and release
Silicone and metal transfer heat differently, so watch the colour and centre. A coating or flexible surface does not mean you can skip preparing the mould. With patterned pieces, cover the areas specified by the manufacturer and avoid scratching the surface.
Product ranges change: the current Pyrex page identifies a PFAS-free version, but we do not attribute that composition to every older tin of the same name. Nordic Ware's ProForm variant is not the cast-aluminium Anniversary reviewed here either.
Cooking tip
Prepare the mould before adding raising agent or finishing an aerated mixture. Place a flexible mould on a stable base before filling. Check the centre for doneness and allow the appropriate resting time before turning out. Related recipes specify other sizes: check and adapt quantities before using them with these moulds.
How we research and what we have not tested
Selection for the Spanish market reviewed on 13 September 2026. We cross-checked references and features on official pages and in manuals, linked in each product review. Recommendations by use are our editorial judgement based on those data, not results of physical tests. We have not measured these models' performance, noise, energy use, wear or comfort. We do not assign scores or a permanent value-for-money winner.
Images come from product pages; sources are listed in each review. Amazon links are reference searches and require checking the exact offer; other links lead to the official shop. A closer look
Lékué 24 cm round silicone cake mould
A flexible mould for anyone who values being able to flex the material when turning out a cake.
Specification-based analysis · Reviewed 13 Sep 2026
Best suited to: Simple cakes and flexible release from the mould
What we like
- Platinum silicone; nominal 24 cm size.
- A stated maximum temperature of 220 °C.
Things to consider
- Its external diameter is 28 cm: check your oven space.
- It does not brown cakes in the same way as a metal tin.
Methodology and evidence
Cross-checking official product information and manuals, with editorial interpretation based on cooking needs. No hands-on tests or verification of offers. Sources are linked in the review.
Its flexibility changes how you move the batter. Place it on a stable support before filling it and follow the surface-preparation instructions. The nominal diameter is not the external measurement including the edges.
If a recipe was developed for a metal tin, watch the baking progress and colour rather than assuming the same finishing time. We do not claim that every cake will release without greasing or that this mould lets you leave ingredients out of a recipe.

Pyrex asimetriA 26 cm cake tin
A 26 cm metal alternative with grip areas for round cakes.
Specification-based analysis · Reviewed 13 Sep 2026
Best suited to: Anyone who prefers a round metal cake tin
What we like
- A 26 cm metal tin in the version reviewed.
- Textured base and silicone grip areas.
Things to consider
- Do not substitute it for a 22 cm or 24 cm tin without adjusting the recipe.
- The coating composition may differ between generations.
Methodology and evidence
Cross-checking official product information and manuals, with editorial interpretation based on cooking needs. No hands-on tests or verification of offers. Sources are linked in the review.
We would choose it for its round shape and grip, after checking that the diameter and height suit the intended batter. The current product page identifies a PFAS-free version; we do not apply that description to all older products called asimetriA.
Moving from 24 cm to 26 cm while maintaining the same height increases the area by approximately 17%. That calculation helps estimate quantities, but does not guarantee the same baking time. Check the centre and leave room for the cake to rise.

Nordic Ware Anniversary Bundt — gold
A patterned tube pan for anyone who wants a cake that can be presented without a full coating of icing.
Specification-based analysis · Reviewed 13 Sep 2026
Best suited to: Patterned celebration cakes
What we like
- Cast aluminium and a Bundt shape with a central tube.
- The current product page advertises a capacity of 10–15 cups.
Things to consider
- It is not equivalent to a plain round 24 cm cake tin.
- The pattern needs careful preparation, and the pan must be washed by hand.
Methodology and evidence
Cross-checking official product information and manuals, with editorial interpretation based on cooking needs. No hands-on tests or verification of offers. Sources are linked in the review.
The choice here is about shape, not an assumed better result with every batter. Use a recipe sized for this volume and geometry; the central tube changes the distance from the centre of the cake to the metal.
The manufacturer specifies preparing the surface before every use and filling it no more than three-quarters full. That is a maximum, not a requirement to fill it that far. Check the variant: the formed-aluminium ProForm is not this cast-aluminium Anniversary model.

Frequently asked questions
Can a 26 cm tin directly replace a 22 cm tin?
No. Batter depth and baking change. Recalculate quantities or accept a different height and check doneness earlier.
Does a non-stick cake tin need no preparation?
Do not assume so. Follow the manufacturer's and recipe's specific greasing or flouring instructions.
Does capacity in cups mean portions?
No. It is a volume measurement. Portions depend on the cake and serving size.
