Let’s get cooking

Method

  1. Check that the torreznos are pre-cooked and suitable for finishing in an air fryer. Pat the surface dry with kitchen paper. Do not add oil or salt: the pork already contains fat and seasoning.

  2. Preheat the empty air fryer for 5 minutes at 200°C if recommended by its manufacturer. Arrange the strips in one layer, skin-side up, with space between them.

  3. Cook at 200°C for about 10 minutes, checking from minute 8. The skin should be blistered and crisp and the centre hot throughout; follow the pack instructions if they differ. Add a few minutes only if needed.

  4. Lift out with tongs, rest for 2 minutes and cut into bite-sized pieces. Serve as four small portions. Empty the collected fat only once the appliance has cooled.
